Barbara Bennett, RYT

Barbara brings eleven years of yoga experience to her teaching. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certified with the Yoga Alliance through Discovery Yoga in St. Augustine.  Her classes are fun, yet challenging; inspiring and rejuvenating; using the poses to build strength and stability with a light-hearted humor. She has completed many workshops and intensives with renowned yogi’s Rodney Yee, Baron Baptiste, Sean Corn, Beryl Bender Birch, Dharma Mittra, Shiva Rea, and many more.  She is also a school teacher in Clay County and brings that creative flow into her classes. Her training was through Discovery Yoga, where she continues to study with Deva Parnell.

Mary Chattin, RYT

Yoga is a way of life for Mary Chattin.  Her practice began nearly a decade ago and has opened the pathway to learning the art and science behind the discipline.  Mary began her journey as a Yoga teacher in 2006 after an apprenticeship with Dominique and John Harding at the University of West FL.  In early 2007, Mary traveled to South India to study yoga philosophy and Vedanta at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala.  Following the birth of her daughter, Lily Bloom, Mary was inspired to complete the Radiant Child certification, Yoga for Children.  Additionally, she ha also completed her Reiki Level One certification.

Mary's life experiences, teaching experiences, and her training have yielded a fusion of disciplines.  She teaches her class to the students, meaning Mary customizes her classes to fit the student's needs in that particular moment.  By 'reading' her students she can provide them with a more wholistic and authentic experience.  Furthermore, throughout the duration of the class, the emphasis wil usually shift from proper alignment to fully embracing one's experience, guided by the practitioner's intuition.  This is putting the phrase ' listen to your body' into practice so that one is more prepared to take this philosphy off the mat and into everyday life.

Among the various styles that Mary draws from are Yin Yoga, Sivananda Yoga, Kundalini, Restorative Yoga, and Jivamukti Yoga.  This not only means the physical aspect of these disciples but the grace, science, and art behind them.  Mary also teaches pranayama, meditation, yoga for injuries, yoga for hormone balance, and pre-natal yoga.

Lisa Snyder, RYT

Lisa discovered yoga at the local YMCA and knew from the very first class that her concept of exercise and fitness was changed forever.  An intense longing to learn more and to dig deeper led Lisa to Yoga Den where she completed her 200-hour Teacher Training Program.  Due to her background in elementary education, the art of teaching cam naturally, and it wasn't long before Lisa was teaching a full schedule at yoga studios and, of course, the YMCA.  Although she loves the total yoga studio experience, she feels it is very important to give back to her roots.  As a result of her own personal discovery and growth through a daily yoga practice, Lisa believes every yoga class (whether mind/body, power vinyasa, etc.) comes down to the quality of your breath, the integrity of each pose, and the balance of your internal energy with the energy that surrounds you.  Lisa strives to deepen her practice and knowledge of yoga by reading, meditating, and spending time on her mat as a student.

Kim McGonigle, RYT

Born and raised on a Minnesota farm, Kim developed a love of nature early on.  Seeking mountains and ocean, she trekked to Seattle, enrolled in massage school, and never looked back.  Upon graduating with honors, Kim was offered the opportunity of a lifetime, one that would put her on her true path.  She spent the first year of the millenium traveling around the world as a massage therapist for a group of 250 bicyclists (not a bad first year experience for a newly minted professional)!  After traveling 45 countries and 6 continents, Kim settled in Orange Park, FL.

Kim has been a massage therapist for a decade, with experiences spanning the spectrum from sports massage with elite athletes to palliative massage with Hospice patients.  She has received specialized training and certification in reflexology, accupressure, Reiki, and LaStone.

Kim is also a graduate of the Discovery Yoga Teacher Training in St. Augustine, FL, and has become a registered yoga teacher through both the Yoga Alliance and Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association.  Most recently she has become a certified Reiki Master and teaches yoga and Reiki workshops at Peaceful Yoga Studio.

Kim is passionate about massage and yoga, combining both arts with her professional and personal life.  She believes that if she can help people learn how to truly relax into the present moment through massage or yoga practice, they can carry this peace into their everyday lives.
